Over 5,000 free meals served to the Houston community at Burns Original Bar-B-Que, thanks to BossLif

HOUSTON (Press Release) — It was a beautiful day to give back to the Houston community Sunday following the rough week we’ve all had dealing with the after math of the winter storm.

Cars started to line up all along the back roads of Acres Homes as guests prepared for Sunday’s giveaways. The line stretched all the way from Burns Bar-B-Que to the light at Little York Rd. with guests who had started arriving as early as 7:30 a.m. Cory Crawford and his team, along with Boss Life Foundation, 1501 Certified Ent., World Central Kitchen and many volunteers worked tirelessly in the wee hours of the morning to provide guests with barbecue sandwich meals to enjoy.

Giving back to the community is nothing new for these group of people as they have an annual Thanksgiving meal giveaway each year and Burns Bar-B-Que has been serving the community since 1973.

While the DJ brought forth good music and good vibes informing guests that everything will be alright and dropping gems about financial and food assistance around the Houston area, volunteers along with sponsors handed meals to guests in the drive-thru line. The afternoon wrapped with Burns Bar-B-Que having served 5,600 free meals today and over 10,000 free meals this weekend.
