Slim Thug, BossLife partner with Checkers to provide students with backpacks, school supplies and mo

HOUSTON — The boss has once again shown why he is loved, admired, and respected by so many in his hometown.

Slim Thug and the BossLife Foundation teamed up with Checkers last Tuesday in an effort to provide school supplies, backpacks, and discounted meals during their back-to-school drive. The giveaway took place at the Checker’s located at 11 Uvalde Rd.

Several attendees got to meet Slim, take pictures, receive gifts, and school supplies until they ran out.

It’s no secret that Slim enjoys giving back to his community. When asked about the importance of it, he said it is “very important,” adding, “we gotta get these kids excited about going back to school, man… it’s important to keep them encouraged and not worried about the small things.”

In late 2019, Slim Thug teamed up with Checkers to do a host of community events. Through their partnership, the rapper and fast-food restaurant franchise have provided food during the holidays, raised money for The Houston Food Bank and No Kid Hungry Foundation, and provided discounted meals at multiple events.

Through the BossLife Foundation, which was founded in 2015, Slim has worked diligently to focus his attention on low-income communities while giving back to educational programs, supporting training and career-path mentoring, and helping youth between ages 8 to 24 within the Houston area. In 2018, Slim and the BossLife Foundation also gave away a home to a family that had lost their residence due to Hurricane Harvey.
